Growth Engineer Intern
Internship • San Francisco, CA • $75+/hour • Housing covered
Parameter builds AI agents that do offensive security work. Our agents run autonomous penetration tests against production applications and cloud environments, finding IDORs, broken access control, XSS, and infrastructure misconfigurations that scanners miss and that human pentest firms only look for once or twice a year.
We are not a theoretical security company. Our team has responsibly disclosed real, high-severity vulnerabilities to well-known technology companies, and our findings are the front door to most of our customer relationships.
You'll sit between product, engineering, and distribution. One day you might ship an interactive security tool that brings in qualified leads. The next, you'll rebuild an onboarding step, automate a research workflow, or turn a customer conversation into a launch.
This is an engineering role with a growth target. You'll write code and copy, talk to users, instrument what you ship, and know whether it worked.
What you'll do
- Build growth surfaces from start to finish: landing pages, free tools, product-led loops, onboarding experiments, and internal automation
- Run a tight experiment cadence. Form a specific hypothesis, ship it, measure it, and decide what happens next
- Own funnel instrumentation in PostHog and SQL so we can trace a customer from first visit through a booked call and paid engagement
- Work with the founders on launches, technical content, outbound experiments, and the occasional idea that should exist by tomorrow
- Talk to prospects and customers, find the words they use for the problem, and put those words back into the product
What we're looking for
- A student or recent graduate who has shipped something people use. Show us the product, script, project, publication, or community you built
- You can write production TypeScript and sweat the details of a page, but you also care about the headline and the conversion rate
- You are comfortable with analytics, basic SQL, and making decisions from a small, imperfect sample
- You move without a detailed spec. You can turn a rough goal into a useful first version in days
- You write clearly and have enough taste to know when an idea, page, or message is not ready
- Bonus: experience with developer tools, cybersecurity, founder-led growth, or a technical audience
What we cover
- $75/hour minimum, with the final rate based on experience
- Furnished housing in San Francisco for the full internship
- Round-trip travel to and from San Francisco
- A laptop and the software, data, and API credits you need to ship
- Team lunches and dinners while you are onsite
Interview process
- Intro call with a founder (30 minutes)
- Walk us through something you built and how you got it in front of people (45 minutes)
- Paid work trial, scoped to roughly one day
- Team conversation, references, and offer
Stack
TypeScript, React, Next.js, PostHog, SQL, Google Analytics, Linear
You'll have a number to move, the codebase to move it with, and direct access to the people buying the product. We move quickly and aim to make an offer within two weeks of first contact. Exceptional interns will be considered for a full-time role.
This role is onsite in San Francisco. We cover furnished housing for the internship. You must be authorized to work in the US; we are not able to sponsor visas at this time.
